PADI Specialty Courses
The purpose of the PADI Specialty Diver courses is to familiarize divers with the skills, knowledge, planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards for various special-interest areas in diving.
Adventures in Diving and Specialty Course Credit
Each Adventure Dive from the PADI Adventures in Diving program serves as an introduction to a specialty-diving topic. During the two courses, student divers have the opportunity to try various diving activities, and decide which specialty they are interested in pursuing further. Each dive from the PADI Adventures in Diving program may be counted as the first dive of the related specialty.
Similarly, Dive 1 of a related specialty may be counted toward the PADI Adventures in Diving program.
Relationships between courses are done at the discretion of the instructor conducting the particular specialty or advanced course.
